March Is Reading Month activities, lesson plans, and resources: https://www.readacrossamerica.org/event-ideas/
Please continue to help yourself to the free book cart in the teacher's lounge. New books are added every day. I also have another cart of freebies in the entrance of the library for you to pick from, too. This is a great opportunity to stock your classroom libraries. Any books left by March 17 will be donated as part of the 2nd Annual Tappan Book Drive.
Speaking of which, the Book Drive starts on Monday. Please encourage your students to bring in any type of decent condition books to donate over the next two weeks. They will be collected and counted for Advisory, and then once counted they will be gathered and stored in the library until they will be shipped off and donated to the local community center for families to enjoy. The drive ends on Friday, March 17 (two weeks from now) and the winning Advisory gets an ice cream treat. (See attached flyer)
A fun feature we are doing for March is Reading Month will be built-in to the Developmental Design slides will be the Author Onslaught bracket game. Your advisory students will vote on which author will win each match until only one popular author is left standing! Who will be voted as Tappan's favorite author?

Happy reading!
